FENDRED - What kind of childhood did you have growing up?
PENNY: Fendred my drear, we are talking about hundreds of years ago, so it's all a little hazy. Ah yes… It's all coming back to me now… When I was four, I traded my parents' souls in return for my powers. Now, thanks to me, they suffer eternal torment in a lake of burning hellfire, but it was TOTALLY worth it! As a young moppet, my fave toys were the Sweeney Todd Bake Oven, Rainbow Blight, and My Little Voodoo Doll -hours of fun! I also have fond memories of my school days…Giving my first grade teacher a poison apple…. Turning the principal, Mr. Calnan, into a three-legged alpaca…Being voted "Most Likely to Host an Evil TV Show"… Going to the Horror High School Senior Prom with Cthulhu (he was a great kisser by the way, although the tentacles tickled a little)…
GAROU: Grrrrrrrrr!!!! Rrrggrrrr!!
PENNY: Oh, heheh, that's my husband Garou. Darkling, Cthulhu and I broke up Eons ago! Now please put Fendred down.
FENDRED - Have you ever been burned at the stake by angry villagers, don't they get on your last nerve?
PENNY: Do they EVER! They just don't ever give up do they? I was actually destroyed by some angry villagers several hundred years back, but luckily Garou managed to bring me back from the dead in the 1600s.
MANFRED: Bah! Your return vill be short lived vile vitch! I vill one day destroy both you und zat wretched moon-cursed creature you call a husband!
GAROU: AROOoooooOoooO!
PENNY: Pardon the interruption Fendred. That's Dr. Manfred Von Bulow. He's a semi-retired monster hunter who co-hosts the show with me and Garou. He can be rather crabby.
MANFRED: Fendred, zese two creatures are loathsome, fetid and abhorrent! You should be interviewing a fine upstanding hunter of all things evil instead!
GAROU: Grrrrr!!!

PENNY: Oh stuff it Von Bulow. Your imminent and painful demise will bring me tremendous rapture! Oh…Are you coming over tonight for Stouffers dinners and a screening of "House on Haunted Hill?"
MANFRED: Oooh! Stouffers UND Vincent Price?! You bet!
FENDRED - How did you get started with 'BLACK LEATHER' on 91.1 WSMU ?
PENNY: 'Black Leather' is an expression of my passion for rock 'n' roll. Garou, while in human form, DJs the show with me. We both dig punk rock, rockabilly, surf rock, Garage tunes, deathrock, glam, bubblegum rock and other stuff you rarely hear on regular commercial radio. Garou and I were frustrated with the lack of cool music on the airwaves, and felt that the bands we really dug deserved more airplay in our neck of the woods. Like cable access, the college/community radio station may be the last bastion for music and creative expression you can't find elsewhere. 'Black Leather' often has a creepy bent to it since it is hosted by Garou and myself. We often play awesome spooky rock bands such as 'Gein and the Graverobbers' - a rockin' horror surf band from Acton, Massachusetts. In fact, Gein himself wrote and recorded the 'Shilling Shockers' theme song!
FENDRED - Which 'Horror Host Personality' did you grow up watching on TV ,as a child, and also inspired you the most?
PENNY: Many centuries ago, as a young lass, I frequently watched 'Creature Double Feature' out of Boston. Sadly, there was no host except for a brief voiceover. However, a few years later, I was joyfully exposed to the majestic presence of Commander USA! Manfred and I both LOVE Commander USA, and his photo can sometimes be seen in the background during 'Penny Dreadful's Shilling Shockers.' While Commander USA holds a very special place in my little black heart, I was even more inspired by folks like Endora from 'Bewitched', Angelique and Barnabas from 'Dark Shadows', All the classic horror stars, Lily Munster and Morticia Addams, and Dr. Frank 'N Furter from the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show'!

FENDRED - What is it like being married to Garou, being married to a werewolf sounds very interesting?
PENNY: Garou and I share a wondrous love! My only complaint is the fleas in the bed and the occasional 'accident' when I forget to let him out at night.
GAROU: Roo…
PENNY: Oh, I'm sorry my snarling darling. I didn't mean to embarrass you. There there. Well Fendred, thank you immensely for conducting this interview with me. It was a most hexcellent experience.
